Fall 2012

Haunted Vineyard at Penoach- Haunted houses, hayrack ride, warm apple wine, free popcorn, fire pit and marshmallows. We’re  set to make this an annual event! And what’s with the eery green line through the picture? Maybe it was more haunted than we thought!

The fortune teller told Jaeley that she would have 10 children and be a vetrinarian, and Brevin that he would play football for the CYCLONES!

I think that’s the look on Brevin’s face that says “My sister is driving me crazy.”

Trip to the Pumpkin Ranch Corn Maze- this year the maze was in the shape of Obama and Romney’s faces. It was hard!

Happy Halloween!

Dorothy and Frankenstein!  We were so excited about our costumes! Brev found his homemade version online.

Jae studied the Wizard of Oz a couple of weeks in advance so we could come up with the most realistic costume possibleSmile

I Finally Lost a Tooth!!!

2012-10-27 19.11.05

This is how is all went. Last night I was complaining about something in my corn dog poking me while I was eating. Then my mom looked and discovered my tooth was LOOSE! Well, I really worked that thing for about 24 hours and during my FAVORITE song at church tonight “I jagged it right out.” I bled a lot, and my teacher gave me an envelope to put my tooth in.  Mom and Dad were so surprised when they picked us up at KQ that we all had to go out to Applebees to celebrate. This is the best day ever!

Two Star Students!

P1030192                          P1030211

Jaeley and Brevin were chosen as star students at their school in September and October! Jaeley received hers for having great ideas in her writing and Brevin’s was for being a hard worker. They are presented their awards at an assembly which we are notified about in advance, but asked not to tell the kids. The older students know to look in the back of the gym to see if their parents are there, but since it was Jaeley’s first year, she was taken completely by surprise! We are so proud of little starsSmile

Surprise!

P1030194

A couple of weeks before my 33rd birthday, I came home to find “Let’s Make a Deal” set up in our living room. I had to choose between many boxes and curtains, all with Jaeley as the model. Not only did I get the Rachel Ray cookbook I had mentioned to Adam weeks before, but I got the CAMERA OF MY DREAMS! Turns out all those hours spent on fantasy football were worth it this year as Adam won all three leagues and spent the winnings on meSmile  Already signed up to take a class and can’t wait to start using it. It’s fun to be surprisedSmile

Birthday lunch at Texas Roadhouse. The kids rode the saddle for me after I informed the waitress that pregnant 33 year-olds do not sit on saddles in restaurants!

Princess Breakfast

Since the boys headed to Iowa City for the Hawkeye game, Jaeley and I thought it was the perfect chance to to take part in Children and Families of Iowa’s Princess Breakfast benefit!  We had a girly morning and had sooo much fun!

We scored $3 tickets to “Brave” and it was a great movie! Even though it was only 10:00 in the morning, we HAD to share a tub of popcornSmile

Baby 3 Ultrasound

Baby 3 Profile2
So fun to see this little person this morning! All four of us went along to see the baby. This is my favorite shot- I love getting a glimpse of what his/her little profile is going to look like!
Baby 3 foot

Here is the foot. Baby measured at 19 weeks 4 days (2 days bigger than what my due date says.) Size is about 59th percentile at 9 ozs.  Heart rate 144/min.

Baby 3 hand
When the kids saw the hand they waved back and pretended to be the baby talking…”Hi Brevin, Hi Jaeley!”   So cuteSmile
Baby 3 smile
This is the “skeleton view” of the face. Technician explained that when the baby opens its mouth, it looks like a smile!

Chicago/Wisconsin Dells Vacation 2012

P1030042P1030029

We took off early Sunday morning on the 29th and headed straight to Shedd Aquarium. There was about a 1/2 hour wait to get in, so the kids and I explored while Adam waited in line. They were very impressed by the “ocean!” (Lake Michigan)

P1030031

Diver in the tank feeding the fish

P1030034

The jellyfish were my favorite!

P1030069

My friend Lindsay was out of town and offered to let us stay in her condo while we were in Chicago. It was PERFECT! Only a 1/2 mile from Wrigley and 1/2 block from the train station. The kids enjoyed breakfast on the balcony.

P1030075

First ride on the “El!” They were pumped! It was full of commuters on the way there and Brevin couldn’t get over why no one was talkingSmile  Not everyone was giggling with glee to be on the train!

P1030098

The afternoon at the beach turned out to one of the best of the trip. We could have spent even more time there. Adam and Brevin played catch in the water and Jaeley and I built sand castles.

P1030089

Trip to the Willis Tower- high point in the United States. Eeek! I couldn’t go out on this ledge. Actually, I think Adam did convince me to stand on it for the picture…see my feet in the corner?

2012-07-30_19-44-02_8682012-07-30_21-08-10_505

Then came the big event- and the really reason for the Chicago detour….the kids’ first Cubs game! Here Adam and Brevin stay busy marking the score card, while Jaeley gets to work on a bag of peanutsSmile

P1030118

On to Wisconsin Dells where we stayed at The Wilderness. It was a kid’s (and Adam’s) dream! We did nothing but waterparks for 4 days straight. And this was the only pic I got-Brevin’s feet splashing into the water.  Show’s how much fun we hadSmile

P1030123

We stayed with Nailors, which was probably the best part of the trip! The kids got along so well- Brevin and Jaeley even started called Copper, Maggie, and Wesley their cousins. Olympics were on, so the adults stayed up and watched that after the kids went to bed. Great trip with great friends.
