Adam and I left Wednesday night for a road trip to Memphis for the annual Dallas County Bar Association trip. As president, Adam was in charge of planning the trip and a it was a good excuse to get away!
Our favorite sites in Memphis- the world-famous Rendezvous barbeque restaurant, a music-history bus tour…(super fun!), and the highlight of the trip- The Civil Rights Museum. And important place for everyone to visit sometime in their life!
We traveled to Irwin to celebrate Adam’s cousin Jessica’s wedding to Karl! His Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jim put on a great reception that included a re-enactment of all the weddings that have taken place at the Blair home. It was a lot of fun!
The Doll clan
Adam’s 5th consecutive Dam to Dam was a success! (And by that I mean that he was not throwing up at the finish line.) I was extra proud because I considered it his “comeback race” after the horrific shingles episode he experienced last fall. To be healthy enough to compete in a 20K is truly a blessing that neither of us will ever take for granted again. And who knew he could actually run in glasses!? Well done:)
Jace and Jenny made the trip from North Liberty to run, and the kids and I were able to cheer them all on at the 4 and 8 mile marks as well as the finish line. Fun morning!
